Bennett is one of the main characters seen throught the Hello Charlotte Series.
Appearance[]
In Hello Charlotte 1, Bennett's face is never revealed. He instead wears a bright yellow hazmat suit with a blue visor covering the area where his face should be. He also wears this suit in Hello Charlotte 2, but takes it off to reveal bright yellow hair and blue eyes. Bennett's teeth are noticeably sharp when he smiles. Bennett also has a multitude of small yellow eyes on red skin underneath his left eye, likely what is left from the time he had severe Eye Plague.
Delirium, Episode 3 and Heaven's Gate use this appearance as well. Heaven's Gate shows Bennett with a much larger scar from Eye Plague, and his torso shows much more severe Eye Plague. Delirium, leaves his sprite with no color except the eye plague under his right eye.
When shown dying from Eye Plague, Bennett still has blue eyes, but his skin is much more red and he has more yellow eyes covering his body. His hair is also falling out. Bennett also wears a green robe when shown in Überia.
Personality[]
While Bennett is often extremely loud and extroverted, he is also seen to be grumpy, sarcastic, and complaining in Episode Three. He is very messy and careless, often working haphazardly despite working with hazardous materials. He is very excitable and attached to TV shows, using them to understand humans and becoming invested in their plots as seen in Episode One.
Story[]
Background[]
Bennett was born on Überia, and was a B-type human. He was designed to live on nutritional soap as a lab rat for testing cosmetics, and was highly depressed due to being used for experimentation. In order to try and escape being a lab rat, he tried to gain Motivation Points to be promoted to a higher rank. This led to him reporting others, even when he knew they wouldn't come back.
After getting his promotion, he became a test subject for medicine instead. He was purposefully injected with various diseases and forced to have many different kinds of treatment tested on him, eventually leading him to being 'accidentally' infected with Eye Plague and being scheduled for disposal. Huxley becomes Bennett's owner on the day that Bennett is scheduled to be disposed of, and announces his desire to cure Eye Plague. Bennett calls him a madman.
Bennett and Huxley become close as Huxley continues to experiment on Bennett, and Bennett even learns how to read and write. Huxley discovers the cure for Eye Plague and tells Bennett to get in a body bag and declares him dead to the Scientist Society, and had been using Eye Plague as a cover for his research into the difference between overmen and men. After discovering there was no difference between the two, Huxley ran away to the House as the two were a danger to society.
Hello Charlotte 1[]
Bennett is first introduced to the player in the Dining Room, along with Aiden and Huxley. He argues that SOAP is higher in nutrition than wallpaper, and also foreshadows that something interesting may be found in the locked room at night. He leaves at the end of the conversation to watch Soapnet in the TV room.
If Charlotte goes to check on Bennett in the TV Room after their initial conversation, he is "dying from complicated feelings" after two characters confess their undying love to each other after 1037 episodes and 10 specials.
Hello Charlotte 2[]
On Day 1, Bennett is found in the attic. Once he greets her, she asks him about the acid in her bathtub. He runs away to clean it, likely because he does not want to be chided by Aiden. After school, he is found sleeping in the TV room with Charlotte's Magcat on his lap.
On Day 2 Bennett is cooking in the kitchen, and according to Aiden, is wreaking havoc on the it. Charlotte, as a result, is unable to go into or use the kitchen.
Charlotte also has the option to read a memory booklet about him in the Dreamscape that is titled How I Met Bennett and Huxley. Bennett and Huxley intruding on Charlotte's home, and threatened to kill her mother if she told anyone else about the fact they were living there. They were pushed to such drastic measures of finding shelter due to the fact nobody else would hear them out. Bennett is also notably more rude in this memory, likely as a result of him not having any soap.
Charlotte finds Bennett in the bathroom on Day 6. He is at the sink with his mask off, and is startled by her. Charlotte mentions that it is rare to see him with his mask off, and asks if his face still hurts. Bennett tells her that it's much better, and it's to the point that he can sleep normally. She tells him that she's been coughing up ink, and Bennett suggests that they should collect it and use it to sell ballpoint pens. Beneett leaves for the VIOLENTROOM before the Game of Chairs starts.
If Charlotte decides to go the the VIOLENTROOM, ignore the Do Not Disturb sign, and pester Bennett, Bennett will turn around in surprise with his chainsaw in hand. This results in the BAD END: Do Not Disturb, where Bennett laments that she shouldn't startle him like that.
When Charlotte returns home after school, she will find Bennett and Felix talking in Felix's Lab. Felix is helping Bennett with a mutant spider bite after one of the workers accidentally broke a spider terrarium. Bennett says that it should be fine, as the spiders are most likely under control. In the Library, Charlotte will find Florence who gives Charlotte a Memory Cube of Bennett's. Florence is planning to use it as blackmail for Bennett.
This Memory Cube will tell the story of Bennett's life on Überia, but has no bearing on the overall story and only serves as extra lore.
On Day 31, Bennett is mentioned by Aiden as having replaced a jar of ladyfinger with dried human toes before school. After school, Bennett is seen asleep with Felix in the TV Room after playing a dating sim.
A memory of Bennett is also seen during the night in the Dreamscape. Charlotte can choose to hear the "Memory of a graveyard", which details a memory Charlotte had with Bennett. The two were running errands, and Bennett was talking about a TV show he had been watching. He enjoyed analyzing characters and talking about possible plot scenarios, and Charlotte notes that she enjoyed these conversations and rare bonding experiences.
Bennett is last seen on Day 32 as one of the tenants saying "Hello, Charlotte!" repeatedly.
Hello Charlotte 3[]
Prologue[]
Bennett first appears on Day 1, when Q84 is talking to Felix and obtaining the Happy Bottle. He gretts her by calling her "human maggot", and mentions that it doesn't look as though Felix is having fun with Q84. He asks about what's in the Happy Bottle, but Q84 refuses to tell him.
On Day 2, he is unable to talk to Q84 in the corridor because his favorite show will start in an hour and he wants to complete his work before watching it. Charlotte remarks that she should go to the TV Room later, and has the option to destroy all of the TVs out of spite for Bennett not paying attention to her.
Bennett is found in the bathroom on Day 3 after Charlotte drinks the poisoned tea. He is going through soap withdrawals, and Charlotte calls him disgusting. He tells her to stop bothering him, as he is very irritated. She continues to taunt him nevertheless, and he slams her into a wall without fully killing her.
After Charlotte kills herself with a toothbrush and respawns he is seen in the Dining Room throwing a Death-Day Party, high on Soap once again. Florence and Felix try to stop him from telling her the truth about what they are celebrating, as he is too high on soap to know not to tell her. Q84 theorizes it may be his odd way of apologizing for slamming her into a wall.
Bennett is last seen in the Prologue experimenting on Charlotte as she slowly manages to wake up as the workers experiment on her. He mentions the large amount of sedatives they've used, and says that breaking her isn't any different from her breaking everything else. Bennett leaves to get soap with others, and says that it's not likely that she will wake up soon. When Q84 hides in the pile of leftover vessels, he thinks that the body pile is Q84. Florence reminds him that the body pile has always been there.
Childhood's End[]
Scarlett first meets Bennett just before she is meant to travel to 9F after traveling to the TV World. He comments on her red hair, and excitedly asks where they are planning to go. Felix explains that they'll be going to 9F, which is also known as "Landfill" for their excessive garbage.
As he and Scarlett use the elevator to get to 9F, it gets stuck and Bennett suggests that Scarlett pushes the emergency button. The floor below them opens up as a result, and Bennett manages to land safely. Bennett contacts Felix, noting that he lost Scarlett when they fell. When he finds Scarlett mangled on the floor Felix chastises him for being unable to protect her, and tells Bennett to go find out where Charlotte is.
He descends into Eden and enters the first Eden challenge. He has the option to use Honikkerpedia in order to get help, and completes the challenge by using various objects that he finds throughout the rooms. After getting the PC to boot up from the USB Stick, he finds a "treasure map" which is used to figure out where to break the flooring. Bennett wants to do it with his hands, but Felix mentions that Bennett is enough pain already. Using the Axe, he and Scarlett move on to the second Eden challenge.
The second Eden challenge requires Bennett to use ciphers and figure out how to decode various phrases. With Felix's help, Bennett uses the books found in the room in order to obtain codes. After decoding the Hint, found in one of the desks, Bennett opens the safe to find a School Diary. Using this allows him to figure out the code needed to open the trap door. Felix praises him for completing the puzzles, and Bennett brings Scarlett to the final Eden challenge.
The final Eden challenge requires Bennett to make a bomb in order to escape the room. He first worries about the monster that he may have to confront, but Felix reminds him that Bennett is a monster who wouldn't face any threat from whatever came. He creates the bomb using various objects in the room, and blows up the door after hiding from the blast with Scarlett.
He descends into Eden by using an elevator. In the elevator, Felix talks to him about how he doesn't have much time left either. Bennett says he's so smart, and that everyone else must look stupid to him. Felix says he doesn't need to apologize, and asks Bennett to make sure that Scarlett gets to 11F. In one of his rare serious moments, Bennett promises to carry out Felix's request.
After the elevator lands, Bennett finds a huge but dead Charlotte Wiltshire Eden. Felix tells Bennett to report back, as the lifeform detectors are going off the charts. Bennett theorizes that the Charlotte Wiltshire of 9F became a shelter for the people to save them from their "Landfill." Felix notes that Bennett sounds intelligent at times, but remarks that it is likely due to the soap wearing off. Bennett leaves 9F, as Scarlett's Charlotte is not there.
Scarlett wakes up after the journey to 9F, and goes to Felix's Lab in order to thank Felix. However, she finds Bennett standing over a body bag holding Felix. Bennett killed him under Henry's orders, likely due to the fact that Felix was aware that he was a clone. Bennett throws her into the elevator, telling her to never come back and that Felix was merely a failed experiment.
While Bennett himself is not seen again, Charles using Bennett's vessel to communicate with the player is seen at the epilogue during the True Ending.
Delirium[]
Bennett is seen once in Delirium, after Charlotte and Anri capture Ms. Intruder. Charlotte calls him and Felix to kill her in the Corpse Room. Bennett suggests they replace her belly with a device to see if she can produce electricity from the food she consumes, and tells Charlotte they will be having blobfish for dinner.
He is also briefly mentioned by a coworker who says they enjoyed his recommendation of Game of Chairs, which Charlotte notes is a cryptic way of saying that they were disappointed in his taste.
Heaven's Gate[]
Bennett appears, along with Felix, in 3 Heaven's Gate interludes. In #16 Rationality, Bennett asks Felix if he would be more rational if he killed off his remaining emotions, and Felix states that he believes one cannot be rational without emotions. Felix tells Bennett it's okay to care, and the interlude ends.
In #24 Wound, Felix examines Bennett and comes to the conclusion that his bruises will not heal unless they replace the tissue completely. Bennett tries to laugh off his pain, saying that he has become desensitized to everything. Felix cites this as an example of the adaptability of the human species, but doesn't want Bennett to laugh such things off. Bennett tries to leave in order to get soap because he'd rather not think.
The final interlude featuring Bennett and Felix is #24 God, in which Felix is aware that he will die quickly. All of the workers are staying up late in order to try and figure out how to save Felix which Felix thinks is a waste of time. Trying to convince the others not to work so hard, Felix says that he will be replaced in the morning. Bennett says it would be different, and that Felix was different because he cared about him. The two decide not to become friends the next time they meet.
