Charlotte Wiltshire is the main character of the Hello Charlotte Series, and is more often than not the character the player controls and communicates with.
This specific article refers to the Charlotte Unit that Scarlett's soul cube is transferred into.
End of spoilers.
Appearance[]
Charlotte has a similar appearance to all Charlottes, as they are all the same models.
Hello Charlotte 1[]
In Hello Charlotte 1, Charlotte has long and notably fluffy and messy white hair and white eyes, and she often appears to look somewhat tired. Though she is seen wearing multiple outfits in this episode, her most worn outfit consists of a white blouse that tucks into a black skirt. Its sleeves puff around the elbows but are tightly buttoned around her wrists. In extra art, the outfit is usually depicted to include thigh-high socks that are usually white, though they are on occasion shown as black. She also wears black ballet flats. The most notably important part of the outfit is the yellow ribbon she wears tied into her blouse's collar. (Though if the Azure Ribbon is equipped, it changes to blue.) Later in the game, if the Executioner Mask is equipped, she is shown wearing a white mask with two eye slits on the right side.
In the game, Charlotte tries on the Jellyfish Dress made by Aiden. It's a polka-dotted dress with short, frilly and puffy sleeves. The torso fits tightly, but below the white ribbon around her waist, the skirt is very large and frilly. This outfit is not used outside of its CG.
In the main title, Charlotte wears a decorated white blouse tucked into dark blue shorts that puff out. The blouse has sleeves that puff out both at the elbows and wrists, and she wears white boots that reach just below her knees that have a translucent frill tucked in the top. She also wears a black ribbon in her hair.
A briefly-appearing outfit shows pink pajamas decorated with bunnies, and in the final CG, her hair is tied up in pigtails with reddish-brown ribbons with a white blouse's collar poking out in front of black vest.
Hello Charlotte 2[]
In Hello Charlotte 2, her main outfit includes a white v-neck sweater worn over a black blouse with a yellow ribbon tied into the collar. Under her sweater is a short black pleated skirt with black thigh-high socks and white ballet flat shoes.
In her Dreamscape, Charlotte isn't wearing clothes and her hair is shown to cover most of her body. Frei gives her a long-sleeved turtleneck button-up shirt covered by a black v-necked mantle that usually covers her sleeves and opens up around the torso to reveal white shorts as well as white thigh-high socks and black pleated shoes once the Mind Library is created.
There are unused sprites of Charlotte having her hair tied up in a bun, wearing a gray turtleneck shirt and a white v-neck sweater. There is also a sprite where Charlotte wears solid pink long sleeved pajamas.
Later on in the game, her hair is cut but by bullies, and it is a mess until Aiden fixes it. After being fixed, her hair is short aside from two long strands on either side of her face. In this appearance, she has the same hairstyle as a Freya, or more specifically, White Freya. This hairstyle is also reminiscent of the Pythian Priestess shown in a mural in the first game.
If the Dark Matter Dress is equipped, her sprite is altered so that instead of a white dress, she wears a black dress.
Hello Charlotte 3[]
During the Happy End, Charlotte wears the same outfit that Frei gave her for the Mind Library area, and she also has a very glitchy appearance. In the True End, Charlotte has the same sprites that she did in Hello Charlotte 2.
Delirium[]
In Delirium, Charlotte's eyes are black instead of white, which isn't seen in any other Charlotte. Her hair is long and fluffy, tied into large pigtails with black ribbons. She still wears a yellow ribbon, but her outfit is drastically different than the other games she appears in. She wears a long white dress with puffy sleeves that tuck in just at her wrists, as well as a frilled accessory around her neck. She is also barefoot.
Heaven's Gate[]
In Heaven's Gate, Charlotte wears the outfit Frei gave her for the Mind Library.
Personality[]
Hello Charlotte 1[]
Charlotte deeply trusts her Puppeteer, Seth, and willingly puts her faith in him. In Episode One, she has a childish and slightly mischievous side, though she most often acts generally polite to others. Although she acts a bit aloof sometimes, she is deeply concerned for the wellbeing of others over herself, and thinks herself responsible of Felix, going after him when he's in the TV World. She's anxious when speaking on the phone and sometimes apologizes for being a burden in a bittersweet manner.
Despite her mischievous side, Charlotte dislikes violence, and blames herself for the death of White Freya that took place while C was using her body as a vessel, a guilt that carries throughout the series. She's very quick to return to her cheerful manner, even when she notably upset, presumably as to not worry others.
Story[]
Hello Charlotte 1[]
In the very beginning of this game, narration about dream-seeing is seen that is implied to be from Charlotte. Charlotte wakes up, and says hello to the Puppeteer, Seth. She mentions that her room is quite modern, and tells the Puppeteer that they should go to the Dining Room as she is hungry.
In the Dining Room, she finds an old note that tells her to call Charlie's Junk Foods for a food delivery. Looking through the Dining Room will reveal that there is nothing edible inside the room, and the last time she tried to cook it almost ended in a disaster as Bennett put his chemicals with the sugar and salt.
While traveling through the house, Charlotte may notice that the lower left door in the main hallway is locked despite not being locked yesterday. She uses the phone in the library to order chicken nuggets and a soda. Various bookshelves contain different books that Charlotte can look at, with one bookshelf for each tenant of the house.
Hello Charlotte 2[]
Charlotte has a dream where she is sleeping next to a rotting corpse of the Oracle. Commenting on how she dreams and the world dreams with her, she asks Seth, the player character, to take care of her once more. Day 1 starts and Charlotte coughs up ink. She tells us that her health has worsened over the years, something that Umbrella Man supposedly told her. Charlotte gives Seth three new quests; to greet everyone, feed Magcat, and to go to school.
A drawing of Charlotte and Anri is seen in the nightstand next to her bed. You can ask her who this is, and she will chastise you for forgetting that Anri is her best friend. Charlotte obtains Anxiety Pills after talking to Felix, who is notably cold to her. After acquiring the Magfood from the fridge and feeding it to Magcat, she comments to Bennett about the acid filling the bathtub. Upon hearing about this, he flees. Charlotte decides not to chase him, leaving the scolding to Aiden.
Aiden reminds Charlotte about her piano lessons in the afternoon, and obtains a Sticker from Huxley after confiding in him about how Felix has been avoiding her due to her worsening health. Charlotte asks Felix to help her get into a locked room in order to talk to Florence and acquire Pepper Spray. Thanking Felix for his help, she heads of to School after giving her sticker to the elevator.

Charlotte witnessing C's assault
On her way to school Charlotte sees a young boy being beaten up by some other students. She uses her Pepper Spray on them as their threats increase and they run off together despite the boy slapping away her hand. Charlotte smiles at the boy, telling him she was glad to help and that everyone at the School likes her and that Seth will always help her much to his confusion. He also seems unaware that he is one of her schoolmates, and she takes him to the infirmary.
Charlotte is unable to access her classroom without a pass, and is sent to numerous different classrooms to try and obtain one. This eventually culminates in her getting Trash from someone in C-2 which contains the necessary White Door Pass. Charlotte sits in front of Henrietta "Anri" Warhol who complains that they did not share their homework before class. The boy Charlotte helped before class is introduced, and he describes himself as C, stating that he is the "God of this world." Everyone laughs at this.
After the lesson on Soul Cubes and the Trial, lunch break begins. Anri cries that she has forgotten her wallet. Charlotte offers to buy her some, and tells Seth that she is not hungry and could throw up at any moment. Two quests are given to Seth by her; to go activate the WARP POINT and to go to the canteen.
Charlotte runs into C at the canteen who tells her that he has already tried to escape this vessel but the preservation instinct was too strong. He asks her for help, but is cut off when Scarlett Eyler jumps off of the rooftop, committing suicide. Charlotte is only able to remember her as an unapproachable and perfect person, someone she could never imagine doing such a thing, and goes home in a daze.

Charlotte's memory of Scarlett Eyler
She goes to play piano with Aiden, and he says that they are playing a prelude of things to come. Charlotte can talk to her housemates before going to sleep, although they don't have much to say to her.
In her dreams, Charlotte approaches a glitching figure of the Oracle who eventually settles into their Frei form. They explain how they have no concept of gender, and only choose to refer to themselves as "I" rather than "us" to make Charlotte more comfortable. Charlotte confides in Frei about how Scarlett's suicide has affected her, and Frei comments on how they were little more than strangers. Frei cannot understand Charlotte's concept of empathy, saying that if life is so meaningful Charlotte should sob at a mere plate of meat. Frei tells Charlotte to stay in the "fog" if she wishes, referencing one of the User Logs that Charlotte can find, but that it is now time to wake.
Charlotte wakes up in the middle of the night to the doorbell ringing, and opens to the door to Umbrella Man in a child's body. They talk over tea, and Umbrella Man tells her that C was destined to die in the alleway. Charlotte is horrified. Umbrella Man farther explains that as long as C exists, she is doomed to a BAD ENDING. Umbrella Man notes her worsening health, as well as the rotting Oracle being given form only by Charlotte's mind, and leaves.
Frei tells Charlotte a bedtime story in the Dreamscape, and describes their ending to the The Tale of the Ink Princess where the two join forces to obtain knowledge. However, at the end the two princesses become indistinguishable from on another. Frei acknowledges Seth after Charlotte sleeps. Charlotte is then described as an unreliable narrator.
Day 2 begins to Charlotte's worsening coughing. She WARPS to School despite her worsening health. Anri immediately complains to Charlotte about being ditched during lunch despite the suicide that had occurred, forcing Charlotte to promise never to abandon her again. During their lecture, Charlotte coughs and has to leave for the bathroom to vomit.
In the bathroom, Charlotte encounters C. She tries to comfort him and prevent him from hurting himself by placing a hand on his shoulder, but eventually removes it. After this exchange, she goes back to class where her bag is missing. She and Anri discover her belongings scatter in the garden. Anri angrily reports the incident, and Charlotte goes home.
Felix greets Charlotte when she gets home, shocked that she is covered in blood. Huxley explains that she is suffering from Heart Wounds, something that is nearly incurable but is common among young adolescents.
Charlotte goes to sleep and meets Frei in a renewed Dreamscape that now appears as a Mind Library. Charlotte can choose to review some old memories on how she met her housemates. Talking to Frei, she hears of the story of Hades and Persephone and falls asleep.
Day 6 begins and Charlotte coughs more. She tries to go to the bathroom to wash her face but encounters Bennett who is not wearing his headgear. After their exchange, she washes off her face and asks Felix for a Pair of Gloves.
Charlotte tries to find C at School, but is interrupted when Anri demands the two feed stray magcats. After paying for the Junk Food, Charlotte complains that she barely has money left over for her own food. They feed the magcats and Charlotte leaves to do what she sought out to do, much to Anri's displeasure.
In the library, Charlotte discovers C reading. She offers him her Book of Truth (item), but opts to tell him about it when he can't hold it due to his mysophobia. He gives her his Notebook and she gives him her gloves. Charlotte leaves for the Changing Room, but is locked in and attacked by strange creatures. Now in a strange mirror world that Frei calls a reality bubble, she is neither asleep nor awake.
After solving a few puzzles Charlotte encounters mirrors containing her past memories. One shows Aiden trying to convince Charlotte to try on a dress, despite her thinking they don't suit her He also encourages her to grow her hair, saying she'll be a wonderful lady when she grows up. She also encounters a memory of the Pythia Frei is modelled after. The final memory shows Charlotte decomposing and being rebuilt after merging with the Oracle in front of Felix. Charlotte eventually returns to the Changing Room and is greeted by C.

Charlotte's heart wounds healing
Charlotte cries, but as C helps her some of her heart wounds heal. At home, Charlotte helps Huxley with Goodwin and Baldwin in order to bring a corpse to the Morgue. Aiden gives her a Dark Matter Dress, and Florence gives her Bennett's Memory Cube.
Upon going to bed, Umbrella Man encounters Charlotte in her father's vessel. The two talk about how the Pythias were merged into one.
In her Dreamscape, Charlotte asks Frei about why the Paper Princess would allow herself to be covered in ink. Frei tells her it was for love, and Day 25 begins.
At school, Charlotte begins her drawing lesson without Anri, who is notably absent. On the rooftop, C is waiting covered in bandages from his latest beating. She tells him about Pythias and all else that she knows, while he tells her of a world called Aether where he was Gifted with the ability to cause cell apoptosis. After their discussion, Charlotte encourages Seth to go feed the magcats. Unfortunately, the magcats are now dead.
In class, the teacher explains that the magcats were killed due to food poisoning, farther worsening Charlotte's guilt. The class mocks her, calling her a cat killer and a monster. Charlotte wakes up in the infirmary, where C asks her to come along and escape the House.
They escape to -1F. The first area the two encounter is filled with bugs, and is not somewhere the two can hide. The next area is a maze, triggering Charlotte's memories of when she was in the Pythia's maze. C comments on how it is interesting that Charlotte was assigned C, when he is typically assigned to men.
The next area contains soul offerings and a memorial to anonymous leaders. The fourth and final area contains dead bodies, victims of the Trial as described by C. He explains that after being reformatted you become a Hollow Human, a Puppeteer's self-insert. After this discussion, C begs her to come with him and to pass on into the next world, essentially committing suicide. Charlotte leaves the decision to refuse or accept him up to Seth.
If Charlotte accepts the two take their pills, ascending and becoming gods of their world. This is their Happy End: Ignorant Bliss, where the two walk through worlds in their dreams. This however, is implied all to be a trick of their dying minds rather than them actually becoming gods.

Charlotte strangling Frei
Upon refusal C collapses into a panic attack while Charlotte tells him that she wants him to live. Frei tells Charlotte that it is actually she who is afraid of death, and Charlotte strangles them to silence them. A guard interrupts the two and Charlotte is taken to the Principal's office.
C covers for Charlotte, and as punishment is forbidden from leaving his room until the Trial. C asks Charlotte not to vote for him in the Trial upon leaving the office.
At home, Charlotte asks Felix what he saw when they left the TV World. He states that she melted into biomass, while she felt she was holding hands with a beautiful girl. He wonders aloud if she should go back to taking the pills as she continues to degenerate, but she strongly protests. As they talk, Umbrella Man posesses Felix.
Charlotte goes to bed, and Frei comments on how they have lessened the fog in her mind. Frei tells her that she will soon learn the world is not worth staying in as Day 31 begins.
On Day 31, all rooms are empty, with each one noting that "Nobody is here." At school, Charlotte is unable to group up with Anri until asking all classmates for help and being refused. All of the classmates are notably ruder to Charlotte throughout the school, and Anri demands she buy food and meet on the rooftop for lunch.
Anri asks what Charlotte's relationship is with C, commenting on how he's only after her body. She then states that they should go feed magcats again, and when Charlotte feels guilty she tells her to repeat "It's not my fault," like it's a mantra. Charlotte confesses her anxiety about the upcoming Trial, and Anri simply tells Charlotte to vote for her. If Charlotte agrees, Anri kisses her. Charlotte feels humiliated.
A note on Charlotte's desk appears to be from C, and tells her to go to the rooftop after class. On the rooftop, Charlotte is ambushed by the Students who bullied him in the alleway. Her hair is forcibly cut off, and Frei appears. She doesn't ask for help so as not to trouble anyone while Frei states that they are the only one who will never leave her.
Others approach, and the original bullies leave. She is pushed into the concrete by the new students, and wakes in the infirmary. Umbrella Man, now in a woman's body, asks her how the lifted fog feels. She asks what happens to people after they die, and Umbrella Man explains that they become Stargazers. Charlotte seems to envy them.

Charlotte looking in the mirror after her haircut
Charlotte brings some Scissors home to cut her hair, but briefly thinks of harming herself before Aiden interrupts her. He cuts her hair into a shape that reminds her of the Pythia she burned in the incinerator.
She talks to Huxley about the ink she has been coughing up, and he finds that it is likely a psychosomatic issue. Unable to help, he tells her good night.
Charlotte's Dreamscape is now a mess, covered in organs of the rotting god and flowers littering the floor. Charlotte tells Frei to read her something, and is offered to choose between a memory of a graveyard of a memory of a yellow ribbon. Charlotte remembers the dreams she had before Frei, dreams of being unable to help her mother without instruction. She recalls always wanting someone to make decisions for her, much to Frei's fascination.
Charlotte awakes on Day 32 to a chaotic room. Her wall of True Realm Research is replaced with a statement that "TRUE REALM IS A LIE." She greets all her housemates, and then says goodbye and that she will miss them all.
Arriving at the School begins the Trial, where Charlotte can vote for Anri, vote for C, or to withdraw.

Charlotte crying in the Grey End
- Voting for Anri (GREY END: Eternal Rest for God): Anri becomes surprised that Charlotte is fulfilling her promise, and votes for Charlotte in exchange. C, now called Vincent Wordsworth, gets no votes and is chosen as the Defective. Charlotte now feels guilty for abandoning him, telling Umbrella Man to help his employer, believing that C is the god of this world. Umbrella Man explains how human he is, and Charlotte momentarily sees the face of the young boy he truly is. Charlotte apologizes to Anri before going to save him. However, Charlotte arrives too late, his soul data already gone. She merges with the Oracle in her grief and swallows every last person in the world to prevent anyone from being hurt again. The Umbrella Man finds Charlotte and offers her C's soul cube, saying that releasing the data will allow him to become a Stargazer. Charlotte now hires the Umbrella Man to watch over the parallel version of herself, losing her name in exchange for his services. She asks for his true name, and while he says that he has many, he tells her to call him Charles. Before her final slumber, Charlotte releases Vincent's soul data into the world.
- Voting for C (Black End: Everlasting Oblivion): Anri is shocked at Charlotte's betrayal and refuses to vote for her. Charlotte is chosen as the Defective, and the other students laugh and mock her. Anri joins in with the harassment, revealing her involvment in the bullying done to Charlotte. Despite all this, Anri is still crying. Vincent also apologizes to her, but she states that she is glad to have saved him. Frei holds her hand as they die, now losing form as they try to embrace Charlotte. They kiss her good night, and the two rest as Charlotte remembers her version of the Ink and Paper Princess's Tale. She merely wanted the Ink Princess to be happy no matter what.
- Withdrawing (White End: Stargazer's Journey): Withdrawing angers Anri, and with no votes both Charlotte and C, now Vincent, are chosen as the Defective. Anri cries despite joining in with the classmates jeers. Vincent confesses that he was never a god, and lied about everything to try and impress her. She comforts him, saying she already knew and still thinks he's wonderful. Charlotte wakes in the ruins of the Mind Library with Frei asking for the power to save everyone despite not loving herself. As she talks, the whole world talks with her. The Umbrella Man explains that she ate every ego in the world. Charlotte begs him to kill her. He hugs her, telling her that they will go stargazing through the world instead so she may learn to be kind. As her final farewell, Charlotte thanks Seth.
Hello Charlotte 3[]
Delirium[]
Charlotte's vessel is seen in the very beginning of the game, asking the Puppeteer to take care of her. However, the person is implied to be the Umbrella Man, who tells the player that Delirium is a world where Charlotte never made up a Puppeteer, but still continues to talk to herself.
Charlotte wakes up in the House, which is her world. She states that she is not allowed to speak of the House tenants, touch the Screens, disturb their neighbors, and that they are especially not allowed to leave the House. Charlotte, however, does not care about this, because with the Oracle's power she is able to eat anything in her way. As she wakes up, there are two mysterious people named August and November talking about replacing her organs with junk food. Charlotte wakes up feeling perfectly fine, and decides that she should probably feed her magcat some cockroaches.
Reading Charlotte's Book of Friends will reveal that everyone in the House is her friend, except for Scarlett Eyler. She also notes that she hasn't seen Aiden around lately.
She has many toys around her room. A rabbit toy is her favorite, and a green teddy bear near her bed is her least favorite. Her stuffed rabbit has been sewn back together many times, and she calls it Poor little Peter Rabbit, referencing what White Freya called Felix in the Maze. Yellow is also her favorite color, and it reminds her of umbrella man. Charlotte's drawers are filled with moldy white bread pieces, showing how well the bacteria colony she is raising is doing. She also doesn't read, and omnicubes refuse to talk to her.
Charlotte goes to the kitchen to feed her magcat the cockroaches, who is heavily disappointed in Charlotte's food. The Obligatory TV Watching Session starts. In the TV Room, Charlotte notes that she had fun in the Channel Dimension with Freya. This may be referring to the Oracle Freya or White Freya. She also says that she's sorry about what she did to Frei and his drones. Using the remote reveals it doesn't work, and Charlotte hears footsteps from outside. Charlotte decides not to go unarmed, and grabs a pair of Scissors from underneath her bed.
Charlotte checks the front door and realizes that there is someone inside the House. She also refuses to leave the House. The REDRUM becomes accessible, and Charlotte can interact with a cage filled with Pythias she brought back to her house after going to the TV World. Huxley will come into the room and kill her if she does this, resulting in the BAD END: No One Comes Back From REDRUM. If Charlotte ignores the cage and grabs the Key.
This key allows Charlotte to go into the Storage Room, which is filled with ominous green slime and poisonous gas. She must reach the end of the room and interact with the drawer to get the Locker Key, and exit the room. If she is unsuccessful, Charlotte gets the BAD END: Intoxicated.
With Locker Key in hand, Charlotte gets a Hazmat Suit from one of the lockers, which allows her to pass through the Workers Room without being killed and triggering the BAD END: You're Not One Of Us. Charlotte also listens to all of the other workers, who say nice things while secretly being rude. She finds Anri behind the Workers Room and explains that she killed Anri's brother, and now Anri lives in the House. They are even dating!
Charlotte tells Anri that there is an intruder in the House, and they decide to use a Syringe to sedate and capture the intruder. They go to the Incinerator Room and find their syringe. Anri discusses possible torture methods with Charlotte, who responds positively.
The two find the the intruder staring at a TV in the TV Room, and Charlotte says that she knows her "all too well." They pierce her neck with a syringe, and decide to bring their Ms. Intruder to the Morgue Room.
Charlotte calls out to Bennett and Felix, who eventually appear and ask Charlotte what she wants. She tells them that she brought an intruder, and wants them to torture her. She and Anri watch them torture the intruder for 15 minutes, but Anri mentions it gets boring after the 6th time. Charlotte agrees and decides to go somewhere more fun, consuming Scarlett's body and transporting herself into the Meat World using the Oracle's power.
In the Meat World, Charlotte discovers that Anri has gone missing and decides to look around the area for her. She meets OSIRIS, who tells her that as long as she helps him defeat the Reign, he will help her find Anri and do her homework.
As they re-enter the main room, OSIRIS tells Charlotte that they need to get "Meats" to get into the next area. Charlotte captures various meat creatures, also known as Walkers by throwing OSIRIS at them. Once she gathers 5, she takes their bodies to the elevator and travels upwards.
In the next area, they encounter a device in the left room that opens one of two rooms. The right room or the central room. If Charlotte opens the right room, she will be chased by a strange meat creature and have to return to open the central room. In the central room, she and OSIRIS will be chased by a similar meat creature and uses the elevator to escape.
While in the elevator, OSIRIS explains his tragic backstory to Charlotte despite her protestations. They leave the elevator to a more meat=coated area, with meat tendrils growing from the ground. Charlotte finds a machine that can transform matter, but they need a key to use it. OSIRIS believes that it is behind a hole, and Charlotte sticks her hand in to reach the key. Her hand is cut off, but she simply grows it back and uses the key on the machine.
Charlotte and OSIRIS use Junk Metal to create a Crowbar, allowing them to find a room full of test subjects in tubes. OSIRIS tells Charlotte to grab one of them and take it to the machine so that he can make a new android body for himself. Charlotte helps him as long as it helps her find Anri, and the two are able to continue on their journey due to OSIRIS's increased strength.
As they enter the next room, OSIRIS warns Charlotte that she should not stop running. Multiple meat monster chase the two as they run towards the elevator.
Once in the elevator, Charlotte asks OSIRIS what he is planning to do once he gets to the Core. He says that he plans to load himself into all of the defective meats and commit self-destruct. Charlotte tells him that he's pretty depressed since he wants to die, and he tells her to shut up.
Charlotte finds Anri at the Core, attached to the Reign with wires and tubes. Charlotte talks to the Core in order to distract it so that OSIRIS can load himself into it, she cuts Anri away from the Reign and consumes the World of Meat and machinery. Using the energy of the world, she restores Anri's body and transports herself, Anri, and OSIRIS back to the house.
