Heaven's Gate characters
Charles Eyler is a character who easily blends into the background.
Being an observer, his main characteristic is having a ghostly, go-along-with-the-flow presence - a trait he obtained in the environment surrounding him. Even though he's self-destructive by nature, he tries his best not to become a burden to anyone.
As he becomes older, he's trying to break free of self-repression.
Vincent Fennell is a character whose words don't match his actions.
With him, I'd like the readers to pay attention to what he does rather than what he says, and how he twistedly rationalizes the way he experiences the world. He's the kind of character who hides his unsightly side behind acceptable social gestures.
Henrietta Warhol is a character who's constantly re-evaluating her own image and character traits in order to fit in. Overly conscious of her appearance and social status, she's doing her best to seem 'normal' ever since middle school. Empathetic by nature, she's easily affected by people around her.
Extra:
All three characters happen to represent different levels of empathy.
Charles has high affective empathy but low cognitive empathy, in which he has difficulty understanding others, but cares deeply about them.
Vincent has intact cognitive empathy, but reduced affective empathy. He reads people easily, but fails to recognize and care about their feelings.
Henrietta has both cognitive and affective empathy intact. She's most socially adept out of the three.
