Henry Huxley is a character who appears through the Hello Charlotte series. He is one of the tenants members of The House, and is part of the main cast.
Appearance[]
Throughout the whole of Hello Charlotte 1, he is never shown without his gas mask except in the Book of Truth. Huxley's hair is visible, and it is black. His gas mask is green, and has purple bunny ears sticking out of them in Hello Charlotte 1. This bunny-eared appearance continues into Delirium, however his sprite no longer has any color.
These bunny ears are removed in Hello Charlotte 2, and he removes his gas mask to reveal his face. Interestingly, his hair appears to be more purple-toned when he takes his mask off. He wears a long white lab coat over a collared purple shirt with a black suit. There is also a V-necked sweater over this shirt that is a very dark green. Huxley is often depicted smiling.
Überia Huxley is shown looking much younger, and slightly more optimistic. His hair is shorter and a more black tone compared to the slight purple he has in the current day. He still wears his characteristic lab coat, however now he has a blue-grey shirt with an orange-red tie.
In Hello Charlotte 3, Huxley has gone back to wearing his gas mask, with some smoke effects coming out as he talks.
Personality[]
Huxley is cold and calculating, but also has a soft side. In the first game, he wears bunny ears in an attempt to appear less threatening to children with airborne diseases. He also cares greatly for Felix and Charlotte, trying to make sure that they become good friends and stay safe. However, Bennett notes in his Memory Cube that Huxley lacks empathy for both overmen and men.
In Episode 3, Huxley is less kind to Q84. He tries to brush her off, thinking of her as a distraction from his work. Due to his dementia he has gained an obsession with cloning Felix so that he can pass on his knowledge to future generations. This desire to continue his legacy also manifests as an obsession with immortality that causes him to experiment on Q84 and her discarded vessels.
Story[]
Background[]
Huxley was formerly a research scientist working for Überia's Research Faculties' Laboratory of Human Resources, where he worked on curing Eye Plague. He ran away from Überia with Bennett, taking refuge in Charlotte's home. He is also Felix's uncle, and serves as a father figure and role model to him.
Hello Charlotte 1[]
Huxley's first introduction to the player is when he enters the kitchen with Aiden and Bennett as Charlotte eats. He suggests that she tries eating wallpaper due to its richness in iron, and asks her to visit the Dissection Room later as he has a favor to ask.
When Charlotte visits the Dissection Room, Huxley asks Charlotte to look after his nephew, Felix. He states that he is busy working on the cure for Eye Plague. Huxley also expresses worry over Felix, saying that he has no sense of direction and is too passionate for his own good. He tells Felix to play with his "new big sister" and that he has "SCIENCE to do!"
Hello Charlotte 2[]
On Day 1, Charlotte goes to greet Huxley before School starts. He wonders why Felix and Charlotte aren't getting along as well as they used to, but notices that Charlotte may be late if he continues talking and gives her a sticker.
When Charlotte returns home and checks on Huxley, he is teaching Felix how to do 'first aid'. He informs Charlotte that he is tutoring Felix and Bennett on first aid and the two are enjoying unidentified lifeform dissection practice. Bennett, however, has refused to use anything but a chainsaw.
Charlotte arrives home on Day 2 covered in blood after her notebooks were thrown into the Garden. Felix forces her to get examined by Huxley who tells her that she has an incurable disease called Heart Wounds, a metaphor for self harm. This disease is reportedly common in adolescents, and causes wounds to manifest as scars on her body when stressed, anxious, or hurt. Trying to lift her mood, he notifies her that she will receive less mental damage now that she has acquired Heart Wounds.

Huxley also appears in the red book in the Mind Library as part of Charlotte's memory. In this memory, he and Bennett break into Charlotte's house for shelter and fall asleep in Charlotte's bathroom.
On Day 6 Huxley asks Charlotte to help him by carrying a corpse to the Morgue Room with Goodwin and Baldwin.
Huxley is featured in the optional Memory Cube given to Charlotte on Day 6. In this Memory Cube, he takes in Bennett as a research subject for the 'incurable' Eye Plague, studying Bennett because he is "valuable material." Bennett calls Huxley a madman, which Huxley agrees with. Huxley feeds Bennett a C-type, a delicacy in Überian society, and also teaches Bennett how to read and write. In the second to last entry in the Memory Cube, Bennett discovers that researching Eye Plague was just a facade and that Huxley was actually trying to confirm that men and overmen were no different from each other. After accomplishing his goal, he ran away to the House.
On Day 31, Charlotte goes to Huxley's Dissection Room after getting her hair cut. Here, she informs him that she has been coughing up ink regularly after the Oracle awakened. After inspecting Charlotte, Huxley informs her that there is nothing physically wrong with her, leading him to believe that her illness is of a psychosomatic nature and that the problem lies in her mind. She thanks him for his help, and leaves.
Huxley appears for the last time on Day 32 when Charlotte has a manic breakdown. He says "Hello, Charlotte!" and is one of the sprites that duplicates themself in her room.
Hello Charlotte 3[]
In Hello Charlotte 3, Huxley is more aloof and cold towards Charlotte. When she visits him before school on the first day he tries to brush her off, trying to return to work. He gives her Gummy Ears so that she'll leave him alone.
On Day 2, Huxley has replaced himself with a robot version created by Florence. Q84 enjoys playing with it for ashort while, but gets bored and leaves when it is too compliant.
The real Huxley is seen again on Day 3, after Charlotte's Death-Day Party. His robot counterpart is at the party talking about fridges, but his real body is in his secret laboratory when Q84 discovers it. He explains that all of the Felix clones in the vats are part of his research to create life that can continue his work now that he is dying of dementia. He has named Felix Honikker after a character in his favorite novel, and has noticed that Felix's work is reflecting the actions of the character in that book. Q84 wants to tell Felix the truth about his creation, but Huxley informs her that he would have an existential crisis which would leave him unable to function if she does. Felix's replacement is also inevitable as no Honikker has lived longer than two years, but females live longer, meaning that Felix will eventually become Felicia.
Upset with this reality, Q84 destroys all of the clones so that Huxley will have to value them more. This leads Huxley to devise a plan the next day that would tear out Q84's soul cube so that he can try to find the secret of immortality. Although Felix is slightly apprehensive withthis plan, he follows Huxley's orders. Huxley himself is not seen during this sequence unless Q84 fails in her escape and Huxley captures her.
Delirium[]
Huxley's appearance is optional in Delirium. If Charlotte looks at the cage full of Pythias in the REDRUM. He's disappointed that she broke their promise and kills her.
Heaven's Gate[]
Huxley is only briefly mentioned in Heaven's Gate Interlude 5, and does not actually appear. Bennett mentions Huxley as someone who cared about him, that is, before Huxley became ill with dementia. Bennett also states that Huxley wasn't shallow enough to believe in God.
