ILO is a minor character who appears in Mr. Rainer's Solve-It Service.

Appearance[]

ILO is a raincoat-hjörian with white skin, short white horns, and short light-grey hair. His eyes are white with black pupils, and he is often seen near ECHOES. ILO wears a grey raincoat with four buttons and loose, long sleeves. His hood is up, and does not cover his hair.

Personality[]

Not much is known about ILO's personality as he does not interact very much with any of the characters. It can be assumed that he is fairly interested in ECHOES, and has a rather inquisitive and informative nature. In the dream=like segment experienced in the A Bouquet for all Hjöriankind Route, he is more forceful and brusque.

Story[]

In the beginning section of the game, ILO is scene filming an ECHO'S STUDY CORNER segment in DOME MÜ before the attack occurs. In this segment, he explains that ECHOES are naturally blind and use ECHOLOCATION to navigate, however, the segment cuts off before he can elaborate further.

In the AINU minigame, ILO describes how to tell if your ECHO is in pain through another ECHO'S STUDY CORNER segment. He explains that ECHOES will involuntarily vibrate, be timid, and ECHONET connection will become disrupted.

A Bouquet for all Hjöriankind Route is where ILO has the most significant, although confusing appearances. While ÜLAR is talking to OSKAR in front of the God in the Pit, ILO suddenly appears from the sky. He is missing an eye, out of which black tendrils move about. ÜLAR attempts to steal ILO's eye, but fails. A founder of life statue is found in his pocket, as well as some cloth, his relation to either of these items is unknown. ÜLAR also attempts to pull off ILO's raincoat and investigate for an ECHO inside of him, but is unable to accomplish either task.

Later during this route, ILO is once again seen in an ECHO'S STUDY CORNER-like segment as ÜLAR is in a dream-like state. He starts by prompting the audience to wonder what silica gel is made of and why ECHOES are so eager to enter hjörians, and states that he will demonstrate using ÜLAR as a test subject. However, this dream-like scenario ends before he is able to finish feeding ÜLAR an ECHO.

During the ECHO'S STUDY CORNER's in the left branch, ILO reveals much about the ECHOES, but little about himself. He explains how ECHONET causes ECHO evolution, and that silica gel is infused with a substance that suppresses ECHO instincts. He also explains how ECHOES are injected with chemicals before fighting one another in Massacre Arena.

Trivia[]

During one of the ECHO'S STUDY CORNER episodes, OSKAR appears for no apparent reason. It is unknown if ILO and OSKAR have any significant relation, however, it may make some sense as ILO was in DOME KRI for no known reason.
