Librarian Frei is a minor character in Hello Charlotte Episode One. His real name is not Librarian Frei, and this is instead an unofficial nickname for him.

Appearance

Librarian Frei has short black hair, with two long strand framing both sides of his face. He has four eyes, two on each side, each with black sclera and white pupils. The lower two eyes are slightly more squinted than the upper two eyes. Librarian Frei wears a black, v-necked shirt over a high-collared button-up shirt. The ends of his sleeves are white. He is often seen holding books.

Personality

Frei appears to be kind-hearted and has a love of knowledge and books. He is also very mischevious and takes a very playful tone when Felix dies. He seems to enjoy talking to others because it's such a rare occurance, and eventually talks to drones in order to satisfy his boredom as shown in Memory 2: Individuality in Hello Charlotte 2.

Story

Hello Charlotte 1

Librarian Frei first approaches Charlotte in the first Silent Film Channel after Felix's head has been shot off by the door. Frei tells Charlotte that no matter what she does, he'll die in his specific channel. He tells Charlotte that he is a librarian, and seems to take a very flippant tone with her about Felix's death. This is because he knows that she can just 'switch the channel' into another world where Felix can live, and because he's excited to talk to another person for the first time in years. Librarian Frei also warns Charlotte of Executioners.

After Charlotte switches the channel, she encounters Frei once again. This one does not know her. Frei's library is illegal, and he notes the fact that the moment his people find the library, they'll burn it. This is because the Pythias constantly rewrite their knowledge, such to the degree that Frei is excited about books that haven't been changed for one month. Frei also notes that he is planning on making a security system, implying that this may be a Frei who existed before the first one Charlotte meets.

Hello Charlotte 2

Librarian Frei is only shown in the second memory in the Mirror World, Individuality. He explains the history of the Pythias to the drone, and references Charlotte Wiltshire as a "little miss intruder." He also implies that the Oracle was not aware that it was destroying the Pythias.

He is also the Pythia that Charlotte's image of the Oracle is based on.

Trivia

• This is the only male Pythia ever encountered throughout Episode 1.
  • This could be due to the Pythia having a much higher ratio of female to male.
• Although all of the Pythias seen in Episode One were locked into separate dimensions, if White Freya and Librarian Frei were able to meet they would throw insults and death threats at each other while still getting along on a subconscious level and occasionally discussing literature.
  • Although Frei doesn't have anything against Freya's homicidal tendencies, he would have problems with her lack of tidiness.
  • In a school setting, these two would be the ones to softly bully Charlotte and Felix.

• His reference to Charlotte as a "little miss intruder" may be a clue to the fact Charlotte is actually Scarlett Eyler, as Scarlett Eyler is referred to as "little miss intruder" in Delirium.

Notes

• Librarian Frei specifically does not appear in Charlotte's second Book of Truth, however, due to the fact he is the only male Pythia she has ever seen, it is highly likely she drew the male Pythia in her Book of Truth based off of him.
