Scarlett Eyler is a character that appears briefly in Hello Charlotte Episode Two and Delirium, and is a main character in Hello Charlotte Episode Three.

End of spoilers.

Appearance[]

Scarlett has long red hair that is often tied up in a slightly messy bun at the top of her head. She has grey eyes as well. Scarlett wears a long-sleeved, white button-up shirt with a red ribbon tied around its collar. She has a long, pleated black skirt that goes to the middle of her calves, and simple black ballet flats. Scarlett is often depicted in front of lillies.

In her mutated form, Scarlett has a multitude of eyes coming out of where her face should be. Her face has been replaced with flesh that is infested and leaking with maggots. There is one very prominent red eye on the right side of her head. In this form, Scarlett's clothes and hair remain unaltered.

Personality[]

In Hello Charlotte 2, Charlotte describes Scarlett as "an athlete and unrivaled beauty, who always gets what she wants," and an "ideal person." She was the top of her class, but was also very strict and unapproachable to Charlotte. Charlotte didn't think that Scarlett was the type to commit suicide.

In the Prologue of Hello Charlotte 3, Scarlett is noticeably strict, lining up with Charlotte's original perception of her. She regularly chastises Q84 for being late to school and disobeying the rules, but also has a soft spot for Anri and tells her that she doesn't need to hang out with troublemakers. In the Principal's Office, however, Q84 discovers that Scarlett actually has average grades and is an average person. She displays an incredible drive and work ethic when she attacks and Linqs with Q84, and displays relatively large amounts of self-awareness when she talks directly to the Puppeteer.

More is learned about her after the prologue, she wants to be able to understand Charlotte Wiltshire (V19), and desperately wishes to help the people she comes into contact with throughout her journey. She regularly feels hopeless about her inability to fix anything. Despite her feelings of sadness, she also tries to separate herself from the people she interacts with emotionally in order to protect herself, telling herself that they are tools to help her on her journey.

Scarlett's personality in the True Realm as Charles' tulpa is vastly different than her personality within Charles' world. She is strict, demanding, and abusive in the True Realm. She doesn't allow Charles to get close to others, telling him that he should focus more on studying to become a doctor for Mother's sake, and is obsessed with passing the Trial. This eventually results in The Trial manifesting in her world, with Scarlett herself being unable to pass it.

Story[]

Hello Charlotte 2[]

Scarlett herself has no real story in Hello Charlotte 2, due to the fact that she is has committed suicide when first introduced to the player. As a result, everything known about her in this game is told to us by Charlotte. She was Charlotte's class representative. Charlotte mentions that she was an athlete and an unrivaled beauty who always got what she wanted, and was an ideal person. She also established discipline in class, and gave off an air of intimidation.

When Frei talks to Charlotte about Scarlett in the Dreamscape, Charlotte notes that she and Scarlett had not actually known each other very well. In fact, they had never even had a conversation due to Scarlett being so perfect in Charlotte's mind.

Hello Charlotte 3[]

True Realm[]

In the True Realm, Scarlett Eyler only exists as Charles Eyler's tulpa. She is his sister who was never born, "the perfect girl soaked in wombs blood." Scarlett harasses Charles to be perfect in order to achieve a goal of becoming a doctor for Mother, even going as far as to tell him to starve himself for days and bang his head against the wall until it bleeds. She does, however, disappear temporarily when Charles takes his pills. It is heavily implied that Scarlett has caused a majority of his OCD compulsions as well as killed his cat.

Scarlett is later shown to threaten Charles when he tries to talk to C. She turns off his PC by force, threatens him verbally, and eventually holds him out of his bedroom window until he apologizes for disobeying her.

When Charles goes to the ocean to kill himself, she appears in her distorted form, calling him "childish" for giving up, and tells him he isn't trying hard enough. Charles admits that she is a reflection of Charles' self-hatred and regrets of being born, a "cancerous tumor" on his mind.

False Realm (Prologue)[]

Scarlett first appears in the Prologue confronting Q84 and her group on the rooftop. She tells them that they aren't allowed to be there, and also expresses sympathy to Anri Warhol, saying she shouldn't hang around "these lowlifes." She also generally disapproves of Q84's White Society activities.

Q84 is attacked and forcibly Linqed with in her hallway shortly afterwards, and it is eventually revealed that Scarlett is the one who carried out this activity. Scarlett displays other violent behavior, especially after Anri's Execution Hour. She stabs Q84 and throws her out of the window. She tries to punish Q84 by beating her, and speaks directly to the Puppeteer, explaining that she has Linqed with Q84 in order to inform the Puppeteer of the truth of their world. She seems to feel slighlty guilty for being so violent, but justifies it to herself saying that there is no other choice.

When she reunites with Charles in the Infirmary, she expresses regret and shame for her actions in the True Realm, trying to apologize to him and make amends for her past actions. Unfortunately for her, this was not the real Charles and instead the Umbrella Man pretending to be Charles.

Scarlett tries to defeat Q84 in the final Execution Hour, but is eventually defeated and impaled by Q84. She does, however, force Q84 to make her wish, resulting in Q84's death after killing Scarlett.

False Realm (Main Story)[]

The next time we see Scarlett is in the main portion of Episode Three, when she sees V19 destroy her whole floor. She manages to escape, although she is heavily wounded. She expresses violent anger on V19's corpse, and takes her eye in order to go through the elevator. Eventually, Scarlett meets Felix, who treats her wounds and also shows her The Oracle. Scarlett asks Felix to inject the Oracle into her so that she can face Charlotte as an equal. Throughout this sequence, she expresses an unnatural obsession with finding Charlotte Wiltshire (V19)

The first time we see Scarlett have a dream, it is about V19 and how she was crying, but all subsequent dreams are sequences in her Mind Library with The Parasite she has injected into her mind. Through these sequences, we see her obsession with finding V19 as well as her strong will to maintain her sense of self and not fall for the provocation of The Parasite.

It is important to note that Scarlett has also bonded with the Puppeteer. Offering you two names to choose from, "Seth" and "Lillith." These are the names of her parents, her father and mother respectively. She feels greatly comforted by the fact she is no longer alone.

After her surgery, she experiences intense pain and is told that she does not have more than a week to live. Felix and Florence help her locate possible areas that V19 may be hiding in. After some discussion, she and Felix set off for 4F, the Language Land.

In the Language Land, Scarlett is infected with a Language Disease. This allows her to gain the ability to talk to all of the Logos Villagers. Going through the village and solving puzzles makes it increasingly apparent that she has great difficulty with solving the puzzles, and often passes off the responsibility to the Puppeteer. After finding the Core of the Word Sea, she expresses more regret over being unable to change anything or being able to help anyone.

Scarlett leaves for the TV World with Florence, and uses a capsule to get a holo-vessel, which prevents her from actually coming to any harm when failing any of the memory puzzles. She continues to hand off puzzles to Seth. Florence and Scarlett also talk about Florence's past, and Scarlett feels sorry for Florence. In the final room, Scarlett expresses disgust with magcats, saying that there is no way she would ever keep one. She also finds O91, and expresses horror over the state of the Charlotte of the TV World, feeling sorry and regretful over her inability to help.

Bennett goes with Scarlett to the Landfill World, however, Scarlett is knocked out upon landing there, and is passed out for this entire floor. When she wakes up she tries to find Felix, and discovers that he is dead. She yells at Bennett, admonishing him for not saving Felix while being forced to go to 11F.

Scarlett finds V19 on 11F, where V19 reveals the truth about Mother and the audience behind the screen. Here, she is corrupted by Mother's influence, her thoughts quickly going from wanting understanding to wanting to muder V19. She chokes V19 and only comes back to her senses long after V19 is dead. In order to fulfill her original goal of understanding Charlotte Wiltshire, she makes a wish to transfer her consciousness into one of the extra Charlotte vessels. Doing this, she begins to feel that she may have been "fated to become [Charlotte] from the very start."

In the final moments of Scarlett's story, it is revealed that her consciousness was transferred into the Charlotte vessel the player has known for Episodes 1 and 2, and that Scarlett eventually lost herself to the influence of Mother.

Delirium[]

Scarlett only briefly appears in Delirium as the Intruder to the House and is found by Anri and Charlotte in the TV room. Charlotte quickly injects her with a syringe and puts her into the care of Bennett and Felix, who plan to do gruesome things to her. Soon afterwards, Charlotte eats Scarlett and uses the energy to transport herself and Anri to the Meat World.

Heaven's Gate[]

Diary[]

Although Scarlett does not technically appear in Heaven's Gate or explicitly appear in its diary, she is vaguely referenced. When Anri tries to convince Charles to seek professional help for his anxiety and OCD, he tries not to go out of fear that Scarlett would hurt his pet cat. After Anri moves away, Scarlett seems to take over Charles' body and tells Anri to leave "us" alone. Scarlett tries to blackmail Anri. Charles later messages Anri to apologize, but also seems very anxious.

The next time Anri messages Charles, Scarlett seems to be messaging her. She pretends to be Charles and talks about "remnants." Anri becomes more and more afraid of Charles, and the last time that he is heard from he talks about losing time to Scarlett.
