Soul Cubes are first introduced in Hello Charlotte Episode Two during a lecture by The Teacher that explains them and The Trial.
General[]
The Teacher explains that upon reaching the age of 15, children will be able to see thir Soul Cubes. Soul Cubes store one's soul data, and it is theorized that Soul Cubes are smaller Omnicubes. This theory sparked a controversy among scientists, because "If soul cubes are omnicubes, then aren't we just meat armor they control?"
Just like all data storage, soul cubes can become corrupted. The Trial was created in order to "fix" those with defective soul cubes, as one with a defective soul cube is someone who will "amount to nothing if not provided help." During the Trial, one's defective cube will be formatted and debugged. According to the Teacher, the best way to avoid a defective soul cube is to follow the School's rules.
Story[]
Hello Charlotte 2[]
Soul Cubes appear physically in the Grey End, when C is voted as the only Defective. Charlotte chases after him, but comes to the realization that he is dead. After she consumes the world, the Umbrella Man comes to her and gives him a copy of his soul cube and allows her to release him. This allows C to move on and become a Stargazer.
Hello Charlotte 3[]
During the Prologue of Hello Charlotte 3, Huxley orders his workers to capture Q84 in order to extract her Soul Cube, theorizing that if Memory Cubes can be extracted Soul Cubes can too. This is likely in response to Charlotte destroying all of the Felix clones, forcing him to have to speed up his plans and figure out the secret to immortality more quickly. When Florence, Bennett, and Felix leave believing that she is too sedated to escape, she desperately tries to escape. Due to the fact that Q84 is aware that she respawns after dying, her desperation implies that having her Soul Cube ripped out of her may kill her permanently.
